Dear Ms Crockett, a few things. 1) The first slaves brought to the United States were not Black but Irish. A quite a lot of them. 2) The Africans that came here weren’t stolen. They were purchased from other Black tribes that captured them in tribal conflicts. So they were already slaves. 3) The word slave comes from Slav when the Muslim empires of North Africa sailed to the coast of the Balkans and TOOK THEM AS SLAVES.
